Three Words to Know this Summer

Hey good people! I hope summer has been treating you all well. I was talking to one of my good friends and we were both discussing how fast the summer is flying by. For most of us, our summers generally consist of vacations, family reunions, weddings, graduations, and holiday celebrations. Summer also signifies the midway point in the year. We look to summer as our time to get away, escape, or experience fun in the sun. I love that for us, but I think it is vital to make sure that we take care of us too. If you’re like me, my summer schedule can easily fill up with various engagements and events. However, in reflecting on one of my goals for this year, which is being intentional with my time, I realized that I have to be intentional about the balance between having fun and engaging in meaningful self-care. I want to transition from summer refreshed and feeling encouraged to conquer the latter half of the year opposed to feeling depleted. So I came up with three words that I intend to experience for the remainder of the summer and I hope you feel empowered to join me with this intention or discover other words you want to embody.

The three words are Rest, Relax, & Rejuvenate - the Three Rs. I know, they are not mind blowing words, but given the busyness of summer plans, one has to be intentional and mindful in cultivating opportunities to engage in the Three Rs. I have curated three questions to create insight and inspiration as we think about how to rest, relax, and rejuvenate.

  1. Are you currently experiencing rest? Rest can be more than napping or going to bed. In addition to physical rest, what would mental, emotional, social, or spiritual rest entail? Make this specific to you and your needs.

  2. What places, activities, and/or people help you experience relaxation? Identify how you want to restore your energy through relaxation this summer.

  3. What does rejuvenate mean to you? Take time to reflect or google definitions. Once you define rejuvenation, for you, plan one activity that will revitalize you and your energy.

Tell someone you trust of your plans for Resting, Relaxing, and Rejuvenating. Inform them on how they can support you in experiencing the Three Rs.

Divine Reflection & Services also wants to support your implementation  of resting, relaxing, and rejuvenating. Connect with us through social media and share your thoughts. Check out our services or contact us for a free consultation to collaborate on a support plan that best meets your needs!
